Christmas Cheer 2015

Happy new month to you all!!!

We do hope the first hurdle of the year was a success for everyone. If you didn’t accomplish most of your tasks, don’t miss a heartbeat over it, there’s plenty of time to dive into that assignment and get it done. Just do not be lazy about it.

On the 28th of December 2015, the Foundation carried out its Annual Christmas Cheer Outreach. As we all know that it was a season of joy and sharing, we played our part in giving out hampers to less privileged families that could not afford the joys of the season.

Each hamper contained a bag of rice, tubers of yam, oil, tomato puree, pasta, soda drinks, toilet paper, beverage, noodles, detergent and Ankara material. Shoes and clothes were also distributed according to sizes.

Fifty families were catered for that day. We appreciate all our Sponsors, Volunteers and friends who came out to help that day. God bless you all.

Annual Back to School Campaign 2014

This year’s Annual Back to School Campaign took place in the month of November, 2014. Approaching the event with a new twist, we decided to visit the schools whose students were to be presented with school kits. IMG_20141120_143648

Prior to the selected days of the Campaign, the Project Coordinator of the Foundation screened several schools to pick out children who were eligible for the school kits in terms of those who needed them, those who didn’t have alternatives as there were some of them that put their books in paper bags to go to school and some others who didn’t even have books.

The day each school was visited, the Founder of GHAF, Mrs EnoAbasi Unogu, addressed the children, telling them the purpose of the Foundation, offering encouragement, words of support and advise to them. She also announced the Foundation’s intention on sponsoring the kid who performed best academically  to the level of achieving a higher education.IMG_20141121_123354

Community Senior Grammar School, Surulere, Lagos.

Estate Baptist Primary School, Surulere, Lagos.

The Ebola Rave: Beware not be Scared

Hello wonderful people, its the first day of a beautiful week but the extension of a long weekend for those of us in Nigeria and some other Countries due to the Muslim festivities…

Most of us have been bombarded through various means of social media as to the introduction of the Ebola virus in our country, in Lagos state. This post is not to scare the readers but to implore your indulgence in being careful and attentive to avoiding the numerous means of contact.

Even if you’re among the some that do not believe everything they read or hear, its better to be safe than sorry.

Protect your children, inform them of the deadliness of the virus. We do not want our future to be washed away through our negligence now, do we?

Be safe and also share the news… Research about the virus and be more educated to know how best to handle the situation and fear of becoming infected and teach this to your childrenGENO cares…
Happy holidays…
