The 2015 Back to School Campaign

Good day people,

The Back to School Campaign for 2015 took place on the 4th of December 2015 at Ijero Baptist Primary School, Costain, Lagos, Nigeria. 

 

There were a 100 beneficiaries from Classes of Primary 1 & 2.

As is the tradition, the school kit was made up of a school bag, notebooks and writing materials.

 

Members of the Board of Trustees were present; Pastor (Mrs) Suoton Elihai, Mr Tonye Tamuno and his wife and the Founder Pastor (Mrs) EnoAbasi Unogu.

The Founder talked to the children and encouraged them to take their academic work seriously before the kits were shared.

The teachers were not left out as they were given some notebooks, writing materials and some packets of spaghetti.

Back to School Campaign 2015

Good day blessed people,
It’s that time of the year again, the time when the GENO HOPE ALIVE FOUNDATION goes all out to give school items and writing materials to the children who have resumed yet another school session.

The mandate of this Project is to institute in the hearts of the children from indigent homes that learning should be fun and something to look forward to, it shouldn’t be an activity where they should be left out because they do not have certain materials.

Every year, we select three or more schools within the Lagos Metropolitan that fall under our criteria of intervention and provide specially selected children with a School Kit containing school bags, writing materials, stationery, rain coat, water bottles, some snacks and drinks.

GENO Hope Alive Foundation invites you to support our “Back to School Campaign“. Join us and put a smile on the face of a Nigerian Child whose parent cannot afford to kit them for the school year.

We appeal to your kind donations to enable us kit 150 children that have returned to their various schools in Lagos, Nigeria this year.

Global Campaign for Education – Our Quota

93 million children worldwide have a disability, and four out of every five children with a disability lives in a developing country- many live in countries which are affected by war, conflict or are suffering humanitarian crises.

The Global Campaign for Education is that EVERY child should have a right to education, regardless of disability; disabilities are not always physical. Streamlining it down to our Country, Nigeria, poverty is the major bane of disability we have ravaging the families in the country that stop the children from being in school or having any formal education.

The Public Campaign was implemented during the first week of this month of May. They were united in their call for Action- high quality Education which is built to tackle discrimination and allow each child flourish according to their own talents and interests.

Using this as a Standard, GENO Hope Alive Foundation is in the mandate to ensure that every child of appropriate age is in school and has the right resources to enable their learning more effective vis-a-vis our Initiative “The Back-to-School Campaign“. This is not only an initiative to promote proper learning, it is also to offer promotional scholarships to children whom are inclined and have shown great interest in the academic era and also to reinstate those not in the school system into proper schools.

Back-to-School Campaign 2013

This is an initiative of GHAF that is targeted at welcoming indigent children back to school when a new session commences. It has become an annual event which the premier of its kind took place on the 28th of September 2013.

The children are sought out by the staff of the Foundation from various government schools and from the residents around the neighborhood.

During the event, school kits containing notebooks, stationery, lunch-plate, water bottle and raincoats were given out to the children present.

The event was sponsored by a few Corporate Organizations(MTN Foundation, GlaxoSmithKline and DufilPrima Foods) with items such as schoolbags, raincoats, books as well as drinks for the children.

The children all left excited and happy…

We look forward to the next Campaign this year which promises to be bigger…
